Join us for this exceptional collaboration that tells the stories of over 70 Newnham College alumnae who worked at Bletchley Park. The exhibition will illustrate the secret work undertaken by Newnham women, notably aerial intelligence, helping discern troop movements, and devising techniques to deceive the Nazis in the run-up to D-Day. The exhibition is a fascinating insight into this world and will spotlight the contribution of women to intelligence work, and also the wide range of subjects which the women studied, enhancing the pool of skills so vital for codebreaking in World War II and beyond.
This will be followed by an ‘In Discussion’ with Dr Gill Sutherland, Dr Sally Waugh and Frieda Midgley, Newnham’s Archivist, who have all played a vital role in the development of the Newnham and Bletchley Park exhibition.
